High Hopes redux

Sing along here πŸ™‚

“Just what makes that little old ant, think she can grow a curry leaf plant…

…anyone knows an ant, can’t, grow a curry leaf plant!

But she’s got high hopes… ”

It grows much more in the second year- the toddler growth spurt πŸ˜‰

Mine is getting taller but not “bushy” as I am hoping πŸ˜€ because I am too terrified to trim it.

Nupur, you are always so good to me and my high hopes πŸ™‚
Do click on that song when you want a little smile.
I bet your beautiful tree is lush this year πŸ™‚

If the curry plant wa sin my place it would have been dead by now, accoding to my family i even kill cactus which is by the way true. I don’t have green fingers at all.

Aw, HC — I never had much luck with green things until the past few years — maybe your luck has changed too! Besides, you don’t need green fingers; you bake like a pro!! πŸ™‚

Curry leaf plant growing is a skill that only a few people seem to have, Linda.
    You are doing really good.

Mine is gone!! My neighbor gave me 2 saplings and they still sport leaves. Lets see where they go from there.

Thanks ISG! I suspect you’ll have better luck than I — for two reasons:

your weather for one, your greener thumb for the other!

I used one sprig tonight though, in a completely home-grown brinjal sambhar πŸ™‚

My curry plant I planted from seed in August 2009 just looks like yours… Hope it will sprout few sprigs like the second picture before this fall comes. The picture is great. I have 3 plants and feel 1 may die. Feel sorry. But feel upset that I am not in tropical area. Live in Zone 5.. With some snow but sunny..

Hi Padumai — I am in zone 6 and kept my curry plant indoors all winter in a sunny window — it was dormant but came to life this spring. I have taken 3-4 good sprigs from it this year — hope yours will keep growing too!

    Best wishes πŸ™‚
