Tuna Treats for Finicky Kitties

I have two cats, and the older one won’t touch a cat treat. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I wanted something to tempt him because he’s such a good boy. After checking around in books and online, I mixed up this tuna treat:

1 c cornmeal
1 c nonfat dry milk powder
1 small can tuna, no salt added, undrained
1 egg
1 TB oil
1 egg (or 1/4 c egg substitute)
1/4 – 1/2 c water

Mix all ingredients together in large bowl, mashing tuna well. Dough will be very soft and sticky. Spread out on greased cookie sheet (a wet spatula helps keep the mess down). Score lightly (this makes it easier to tear apart after baking).

Bake at 350, ten minutes per side.

Let cool and tear along the scored lines. These are fairly soft, and are best stored in fridge. To make the kitties happy, break off bite sized pieces and let them have at it.
